2nd Annual Roanoke Holiday Career and Lifestyle Fair

Last year’s event received 15 unique media exposures from traditional channels such as television, newspaper and radio, and countless others from non-traditional media such as blogs, web sites, social networking sites, etc. All exposure generated over 800 people (over 500 were young professionals) attending the event. In a post-event survey, every exhibitor but one said the event was worth their time and resources.
The premise behind this event being held in late December is thousands of native sons and daughters return to Roanoke to visit their families during the winter holiday season. Whether they are current college students, young single adults, new families, or persons in any other stage of life, some of these people would like to one day return to Roanoke and begin a new life. The holdup in making the move is typically employment opportunities.
This fair will bring together not only local employers, but also entrepreneurial organizations and lifestyle organizations to showcase Roanoke’s professional, social and personal opportunities. A special video gaming event is also being planned for December 28-30 in an adjacent facility to attract more attendees.
Cost
The cost to participate for employers is $250 and the cost for lifestyle and entrepreneurial organizations is $150. All job seekers receive free admission.
- Booth locations will be allocated on a first paid basis. To secure a preferred location at the event, register today (see below).
- If you register prior to November 1, we will post your job and internship opportunities on a Facebook.com group – a group of targeted young adults looking for opportunities in the region.
- Finally, as an incentive to participate in the Holiday Career and Lifestyle Fair, you will be allowed to participate in a FREE and unique employment fair at Virginia Tech in February of 2008

Please email Simone Knowles (simone.knowles@roanokeva.gov) your interest in participating along with your contact information. She will generate an electronic invoice for you to pay online with a credit card. Please also indicate if you are an employer organization ($250) or a lifestyle/entrepreneurial organization ($150). Again, preferred booth spaces will be allocated on a first paid basis.
