Neighborhood Month 2012...
Neighborhood Month is a month long celebration
of community and neighborhood pride
hosted by Roanoke neighborhood organizations
to provide opportunities
for all residents of all neighborhoods
to come together with each other
to celebrate our neighborhoods…and each other...
as we do have so much to celebrate!
... during the month of May.
To help you with the planning of your Neighborhood Month event, the 2012 Neighborhood Month Event Kit will provide you with tips on how to organize your event, how to solicit volunteers to help with your event, and event suggestions that have been successful in Roanoke and other neighborhoods around the country.
A 2012 Neighborhood Month Events Flyer listing of all events taking place during Neighborhood Month will be made availble for you to print and share with your family, neighbors, co-workers, and friends as events are planned.
Take this opportunity to learn about our neighborhoods..and leave the comfort of your own neighborhood and venture out to see what the rest of Roanoke......and our neighborhoods..... are REALLY about........the 'building blocks' of our city!! For once you have discovered Roanoke's neighborhoods, you will quickly realize just how unique each one is, but at the same time, will quickly learn how each is filled with warm and friendly people who care about their neighborhood - just as you care about yours!
Please do not miss this opportunity to learn about our neighborhoods..........the 'building blocks' of our city............and participate in Neighborhood Month events taking place around our City.
If your organization is planning an event, please contact the Office of Neighborhood Services by calling 853-5210 or by
email
.
