Glossary of Statuses


Amusement Device Permit, Building Permit, Certificate Of Occupancy, Commercial Utilities, Cross Connection Permit, Cross Connection Renewal, Electrical Permit, Elevator Permit, Fire System Permit, Mechanical Permit, Plan Review, Plumbing Permit, Roof/Siding Permit, Storage Tank Permit, Street Opening Permit and Work On City Property

    APPCOND - Permit is approved with certain conditions

    APPLIED - Permit has been applied for and is under review by the DAC

    CLOSED - Permit has been administratively closed - all required inspections have not been performed

    COMMENT - Initial review has been completed and comment sent to applicant for a response

    EXPIRED - Permit has expired; no work done on this permit

    EXTENDED - Permit was previously expired and the permit has been extended to allow completion of the project

    FINALED - Permit is complete and all work on this permit has been approved

    ISSUECON - Permit has been issued with conditions

    ISSUED - Permit has been issued; plans (if applicable) are approved

    PENDING – Initial application review and/or zoning review has been completed and comment sent to applicant for response

    RESUBMIT - Review comments have been resubmitted and are being reviewed

    REVIEW - Application and plans have been received by reviewer and are being reviewed

    REVOKED - Permit has been revoked by the Building Commissioner

    TCO - Temporary Certificate of Occupancy issued

    WITHDRWN - Applicant decided not to do work on permit



Appeals Process

    APPLIED - Application for appeal has been submitted and is under review

    DENIED - Application for appeal has been denied; not approved

    GRANTED - Application for appeal has been approved

    TABLED - Application is pending; additional information is needed

    WITHDRWN - Applicant decided not to appeal decision of Building Inspector



Basic Development Plan, Board Of Zoning Appeals, Certificate of Appropriateness, Comprehensive Site Plan, Intake Review/Zoning Permit, Land Disturbing Permit, Outdoor Dining and Subdivision Plan

    APPLIED - Application and fees have been received and processed

    APPROVED - All inspections completed; project ready for final inspection

    CLOSED - Final inspection complete; project finished and activity completed

    CONTINUE - Board action continued; Commission action continued

    DENIED - Board/Commission denied request

    EXPIRED - No activity for 6 months since applied or issued

    ISSUED - Permit to begin construction activities/ Certificate of Appropriateness issued (if applicable)

    PENDING - Board/Commission action has not yet been taken

    REVIEW - Comprehensive or Basic request for Board Action ongoing

    TABLED - Board/Commission continued by Motion to tabled

    WITHDRWN - Board/Commission action discontinued



City Demo/Secure/Repair

    ACTIVE - Permit still open; work is not complete

    CLOSED - All inspections have been approved for permit



Graffiti Complaints

    CITIED - Notice has been sent

    CLOSED - Graffiti removed or painted over

    INITIZE - Complaint given to inspector



Inoperable Vehicles

    APPEAL - Appeal of the notice

    BILLED - Vehicle has been towed and owner billed for costs

    CITED - Violation has been cited

    COMPLETE - Vehicle towed and owner billed

    COMPLIED - Vehicle brought into compliance

    CLOSED - Violation has been abated

    LIEN - Lien placed on property for costs of tow/storage

    RESOLVED - Vehicle towed

    SUMMONS - Summons requested

    TOWED - Vehicle towed by city contractor

    UNFOUND - No violation found

    VOID - Invalid or error

    WRKORDER - Work order issued to contractor to tow vehicle


Plan Review


    BAPP – Building approved

    BCAN – Building cancelled

    BCON – Building conditional approval

    BDEN – Building denied

    BINF – Building information

    BPAP – Building partial approval

    CNON – Code non-founded

    PAPP – Plan approved

    PCOM – Plan notice to comply

    PIC – Plat in Compliance

    PICP – Plan in compliance

    PILB – Plan illegal business

    PNCP – Plan not in compliance

    POST – Plan outdoor storage

    PPAP – Plan partial approval

Prop Maint/Rental Unit, Rental Housing Building, Rental Housing Complex

    1EXPIRE - 1st notice sent for expiration of current Rental Certificate Requirement (Rental Inspection District) -30 days to respond

    1NOTICE - 1st notice sent for new owner or new unit of Rental Certificate Requirement (Rental Inspection District) – 30 days to respond

    2EXPIRE - 2nd notice sent for expiration of current Rental Certificate Requirement (Rental Inspection District)

    2NOTICE - 2nd notice sent for new owner or new unit of Rental Certificate Requirement (Rental Inspection District)

    APPEAL - Appeal of the notice

    CERTIFCT - Rental Certificate granted for 4 (four) years (Rental Inspection District)

    COMPLIED - All violations have been corrected

    EXCUSED - Unit excused from rental inspection due to ratio of passed units

    INACTIVE - Interior violations exist, but property is vacant, and will remain vacant until violations are corrected

    INITLIZE - Code enforcement activity has been initiated

    NoUS - Notice of Unsafe Structure. Unit or building may not be occupied until repairs have been completed and approved

    NOTRENT - Property is no longer rental (Rental Inspection District)

    RAZED - Structure demolished

    REPAIR - Violations of the Maintenance Code exist and order for repairs has been issued

    REVOKED - Revoke Rental Certificate of Compliance as a result of building violations not related to utilities. (Rental Inspection District)

    RIPREFSD - Owners non compliance to 2 notices regarding Rental Inspection Requirement (Rental Inspection District)

    SCHEDULE - Inspection has been scheduled for Rental Inspection (Rental Inspection District)

    SUMMONS - Summons requested

    TENVIOL - Violation responsibility of tenant

    UNFOUND - No violation found upon inspection

    UNITDEL - Unit no longer rental or removed

    VACANT - Property located in Rental Inspection District but owner has confirmed that property will remain vacant (Rental Inspection District)

    VOID - Invalid or error



Rezoning

    APPLIED - Application and fees have been received and processed

    APPROVED - All inspections completed; project ready for final inspection

    CONTINUE - Board action continued; Commission action continued

    DENIED - Board/Commission denied request

    WITHDRWN - Board/Commission action discontinued



Weeds/Trash

    ABATED - Violation abated by City Contractor

    APPEAL - Appeal of the notice

    CITED - Violation has been cited

    COMPLETE - Violation has been abated and all paper work has been filed

    COMPLIED - Violation has been abated by owner

    LIEN - Lien placed on property for cost of abatement

    RESOLVED - Violation abated

    SUMMONS - Summons requested

    VOID - Invalid or error

    UNFOUND - No violation found

    WRKORDER - Work order issued to contractor to abate nuisance



Zoning Complaint

    APPEALED - Appeal of the notice

    CITED - Violation has been cited

    CLOSED - Violations have been corrected and case has been closed

    COMPLIED - All violations have been corrected

    EXTEND - Extension, time has been granted to owner to correct violations

    SUMMONS - Summons requested

    OPEN - Application is active
