Mill Mountain Discovery Center |
 The primary mission of the Discovery Center is to create an awareness and appreciation of this beautiful natural resource we call Mill Mountain via environmental education exhibits, programs and classes. Thanks to a professional staff and dynamic partnerships, during the past two years over 140 educational programs, day camps and community events have been offered at the facility. These programs focus on wildlife, geology, ecology, mountain flora, fauna, natural history and the human impact.
Recently, a touch screen information kiosk was installed to provide extensive information about special events, lodging, restaurants, attractions and other critical visitor services. Printable directions will be available with local phone service to make reservations if needed.
The Center is affiliated with the Blue Ridge Parkway Association as a Regional Information Center and is promoted in their travel guide magazine, on their website, blueridgeparkway.org and along the Blue Ridge Parkway. New Parkway signs have been installed at critical intersections near Roanoke directing visitors to Mill Mountain.
