Lead-Safe Roanoke
Lead-Safe Roanoke is a program designed to help reduce lead poisoning in children under the age of 6 as a result of lead-based paint hazards in the home through:
- Education and Outreach
To schedule a Lead-Safe Roanoke presentation for your organization, call (540) 853-5681.
- Increased screening and testing
For families who do not have a family doctor or lack ready access to screening, the City of Roanoke Health Department provides screening and testing. Any interested parent can call for a 5-minute telephone screening by contacting Karen Saul at (540) 857-7807, extension 120.
- Lead hazard control for local homes
For information regarding how to reduce or eliminate lead-based paint hazards in your home, please call (540) 853-5681.
