New Greater Raleigh Court Neighborhood Plan
The Greater Raleigh Court Neighborhood Plan was adopted by City Council on May 21. It replaces the previous plan that was adopted in 1999. Two public workshops were held in the Fall of 2006 to gather input from citizens. A third public workshop was held in February 2007 to present a draft of the plan update to residents. The Previous Greater Raleigh Court Neighborhood Plan
The Greater Raleigh Court Neighborhood Plan covers Raleigh Court and the areas known as Virginia Heights, Ghent, Center Hill, Lakewood, West Hampton, Rosalind Hills, and Lee Hy Court. Most of this area was annexed from Roanoke County in 1919. Today it is one of the City's most appealing neighborhoods with a variety of housing options and the best preserved neighborhood commercial, village center; Grandin Village.

The old Greater Raleigh Court Neighborhood Plan was developed in 1999 as the Greater Raleigh Court Civic League expressed concern over the rising number of duplex and multifamily conversions of single-family houses in the neighborhood. A key recommendation of the plan was to rezone the residential areas to maintain the traditional character of the neighborhood. The Greater Raleigh Court Civic League was formed in 1978 and was the first neighborhood organization to work with the Roanoke Neighborhood Partnership when it was formed in 1981.

Recently, the Grandin Road traffic-calming project was completed in Grandin Village. The project included an upgrade of sewer and water lines, sidewalk extensions, street light replacements, stamped asphalt crosswalks, landscaping and trees, and a narrowing of the travel lanes on Grandin Road to reduce traffic speeds.
