The following list of vacancies is updated, if necessary, after each City Council meeting.

Roanoke City Council appoints members to approximately 64
authorities, boards, commissions and committees..

As of August 18, 2008, vacancies exist on the following bodies:

    • Board of Fire Appeals - two vacancies
    • Economic Development Authority - one vacancy
    • Fair Housing Board - one vacancy
    • Parks and Recreation Advisory Board - one vacancy
    • Roanoke Redevelopment and Housing Authority - three upcoming vacancies (Interviews scheduled for September 2, 2008)
    • Youth Services Citizen Board - three vacancies
