Payroll
This section of the Department of Finance is responsible for processing the payroll for the 3,700 employees of the city of Roanoke, and the 1,713 retirees who participate in the Roanoke City Pension Plan. During the fiscal year ended June 30, 2008, this section processed 9,078 payroll checks and 118,864 payroll deposit advices.

The Payroll section uses the HCM E Series software package from INFOR Global Solutions Technology, which interfaces with the city's accounting system.
