The Northwest Neighborhood Improvement Council includes in its impact area from Moorman Avenue on the south to Orange Avenue on the north and from Fifth Street on the east to 14th Street on the west. This area of the city is know as the Harrison neighborhood, part of the early urban fabric of the City, with most of the houses being built between 1900 and 1920 and with many still standing and occupied. The neighborhood provides the opportunity for traditional historic neighborhood living with the rolling terrain providing views of downtown and surrounding areas. This community features the Harrison Museum of African American Culture and Burrell Community Hospital.
