Although no longer active, the Hollins Road North Civic League once included the area east of Shenandoah Valle/Norfolk and Southern Railway, north of Orange Avenue, and within the natural boundary of Tinker Creek. The undulating terrain of the neighborhood contributes to the rural character of this neighborhood that many residents have cited as one of the greatest attributes of the area. Despite a considerable amount of commercial and industrial development, and increased traffic levels in recent years, residents continue to describe their neighborhood as quiet and removed from the urban environment of the City, yet with the convenience of the City not far away. The neighborhood has a wide array of land uses including industrial districts, Enterprise Zones, single family subdivisions, numerous commercial establishments, Bluestone Park, and two other parks close by - Mason Hill Park and Eastgate Park.
