Ridgewood Park neighborhood developed during the 1950s and 1960s when farmland gave way to apartment complexes and single family brick ranch houses. The surburban setting and close proximity to major arterials make for easy access to downtown, Valley View Mall and other neighborhoods and services. Ridgewood Park has large-scale areas of vacant land with potential for development and excellent opportunities for new market rate housing. In August 2004 Ridgewood Park was opened. This park consists of approximately 2.5 acres and includes play structures for both the 2-5 and 5-12 age groups.
