Loudon-Melrose is one of several early suburbs of the city that developed after streetcar lines were constructed and downtown and the inner rung of neighborhoods began to build out. Most of the houses in Loudon-Melrose date to the 1920's. The boundaries are 14th Street, 24th street, Orange Avenue southside to the railroad tracks. The neighborhood includes businesses, churches, daycare centers, banks, a grocery store and a park.
