Peters Creek North Neighborhood Plan

The Peters Creek North Neighborhood Plan covers an area that includes four neighborhoods; Miller Court/Arrowood, Peachtree/Norwood, Washington Heights, and Westview Terrace. Much of these neighborhoods was developed in the 1950s and 60s with suburban-style ranch houses. Washington Heights is the oldest of the four and has a grid street pattern, while the rest of the area is characterized by suburban streetscapes, many with cul de sacs.

Over the years Hershberger Road, Melrose Avenue, and Peters Creek Road have become busy commercial corridors. The Peters Creek extension to the south has improved the ease of traveling between the northwest and southwest of the City, but has also added a great deal of traffic.

The plan's priority recommendations are:
  • Changing the neighborhood's zoning in appropriate locations
  • Providing a complete curb and guttersystem
  • Improving traffic on Hershberger and Cove Roads
  • Minimizing property damage from flooding
