PROMOTING CLEAN NEIGHBORHOODS
The Code Enforcement Staff is comprised of code enforcement officers and administrative personnel. Together, they are responsible for upholding various codes and ordinances that promote clean, safe, and attractive neighborhoods.
WHY CODE ENFORCEMENT?
Title 15.2 of the Code of Virginia grants Counties, Cities and Towns the authority to create and adopt local ordinances to protect and promote the public health, safety and welfare of the community.
The policies and procedures adhered to by code enforcement staff allow them to protect the health, safety and welfare of our citizens and in doing enhance the City's quality of life and its appearance. Clean, attractive neighborhoods are needed in order to encourage economic investment, revitalization and population retention.
The Permit Center will be closed on Thursday May 22, 2014 for staff training purposes.
Thank you for your patience.
