Policies and Procedures
The Roanoke Law Library has over 18,000 legal volumes available for public research. The collection includes court cases, treatises, and numerous legal self help books. All legal publications are "Reference Only", which means they can not be checked out. Copies can be made for 15 cents per page.
The Roanoke Law Library has two CD-ROM products: Virginia Law on Disk and DiskLaw. These databases contain the , Virginia court cases, and other pertinent law. In addition, the Law Library has Virginia Lawyers Weekly on disk since 1990 as well as Microsoft Works on microcomputers available for public use.
All materials in the Roanoke Law Library are included in the Roanoke Area Libraries Public Access Catalog and can be searched from any library branch location.
The Roanoke Law Library staff will be happy to assist patrons in their legal research, but cannot provide legal advice.
