Faster Fleet Management Information System

The Faster Fleet Management Information System went live May 27, 2008. Prior to the implementation of this system, Fleet Management used a system called MCMS. Since the implementation of Faster, the Department has experienced increased reporting accuracy and many other enhancements to the overall Fleet program. The system is designed to help the Fleet Manager gain centralized control over fleet expenses and charges to using departments and customers. Faster provides real time data on the major cost drivers in a fleet maintenance operation: equipment and maintenance costs, personnel performance and material usage.

Faster tracks all maintenance performed on a piece of equipment, manages repair orders and establishes PM schedules. It tracks fuel, oil, and tire usage and offers reports on equipment utilization/performance to identify poor performance. It supports on-line, real time access to vehicle records.

Also, this program analyzes shop-floor operations and tracks work standards and PM programs based on the actual performance of fleet equipment and maintenance. The historical information can be used to analyze labor efficiency and garage expenses. It has also been an invaluable tool to our customers by giving them a report of their departments' total vehicular expenses.
