Roanoke Police Department Investigates Aggravated Assault

The Roanoke Police Department is investigating an aggravated assault that occurred on July 4, 2009. Officers responded at 1:35 a.m. to Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital. The victim stated that he was inside of the Blueberry Hill Restaurant and Lounge in the 5300 block of Williamson Road when he was stabbed by the suspect. The victim then left the business and was taken to the hospital by an acquaintance. The victim was identified as Kevin Wayne Ferguson, age 32 of Roanoke. No arrests have been made, however a suspect has been named. The investigation has also revealed that the victim and the suspect knew each other. Anyone with information regarding this or other crimes should call the Roanoke Police Department at 853-5959 or Crime Line at 344-8500. Crime Line may offer a monetary reward for any information leading to an arrest.
