Planning Commission:  Results of October 10, 2016, Public Hearing


Application by Nada and Mounir Melki and Ernie Littlefield to vacate an unused approximately 10 foot wide alley extension between the western boundary of Official Tax Nos. 2222110, 2222119, and 2222108 and along the eastern boundary of Official Tax No. 2222107 and to vacate an unused approximately 5 foot wide alley extending from the intersection with 11th Street, NW, between Official Tax Nos. 2222108 and 2222119 to connect with the aforementioned 10 foot wide alley--Application amended during Planning Commission Public Hearing to include conditions related to recordation, payment, and timeliness--Planning Commission recommended approval of the amended application, 5-0.

Application by Fisher Properties, LLC, to repeal conditions proffered as part of a previous rezoning at 2701 and 2707 Brambleton Avenue, SW, bearing Official Tax Nos. 1650326 and 1650325, respectively--Planning Commission recommended approval, 5-0.

City Council will hold a public hearing on the aforesaid applications on October 17, 2016, at 7:00 p.m., or as soon as the matter may be heard.

Motion to schedule a public hearing for November 14, 2016, or as soon thereafter as the matter may be heard, to consider proposed amendments to Chapter 36.2, Zoning, of the Code of the City of Roanoke (1979), as amended--Planning Commission approved, 5-0.

Motion to schedule a public hearing for November 14, 2016, or as soon thereafter as the matter may be heard, to consider proposed amendments to Chapter 31.1, Subdivisions, of the Code of the City of Roanoke (1979), as amended--Planning Commission approved, 5-0.

Motion to schedule a public hearing for November 14, 2016, or as soon thereafter as the matter may be heard, to rezone property located at 2002 Blue Hills Drive, NE, bearing Official Tax No. 7230101, from I-1, Light Industrial District, with conditions, and ROS, Recreation and Open Space District, to I-1, Light Industrial District--Planning Commission approved, 5-0.

Motion to schedule a public hearing for November 14, 2016, or as soon thereafter as the matter may be heard, to consider an ordinance amending the Fee Compendium of the City to increase fees for minor subdivision plat reviews, establish a flat fee for all zoning changes, and establish a new fee for zoning administrator modifications, such new fees having an effective date of November 21, 2016, pending approval by City Council--Planning Commission approved, 5-0.
