Roanoke, VA – Registration is currently underway for residents to attend the 2nd Annual Neighborhood Month Conference, once again “kicking off” the Neighborhood Month activities taking place around the city during May. This year's half-day conference is scheduled to take place on the morning of Saturday, April 29, at the First Christian Church Community Room located at 344 Church Ave. SW in downtown Roanoke.
The conference will be held from 8:30 a.m. until 1:30 p.m., and will include a continental breakfast and lunch. The conference is free, but registration is required in order to get an accurate headcount for the meals. Participants will choose between four different workshops, with topics determined based on responses to the surveys collected at the conclusion of the 2016 “City Neighborhoods Harvesting of the Fruits Potluck Dinner & Awards Celebration.”
Register online or contact the Office of Neighborhood Services at 853-1286 to receive a registration form. If your neighborhood has not planned an event yet, there is still plenty of time to do so. Once your event has been planned, please inform Neighborhood Services Coordinator Bob Clement at 853-1286, so it can be added to the growing list of events taking place. To check out events already planned, visit the Neighborhood Month website. This site will be updated as events are scheduled.
