Come celebrate your history in the Virginia Room! Karen Kappesser, President of the Southwestern Virginia Genealogical Society, will help with finding ancestors “Across the Pond”, focusing on British genealogy after 1800. Don Vaughn, long time member of SVGS, will get you started with basic genealogy. Find your inner genealogist, explore volunteer opportunities and see treasures in the Virginia Room. Talk “Ancestors” and enjoy refreshments too. Everyone is invited. Registration required.

What would you like to see in Hurt Park? Brainstorm with your neighbors about creating a network of open green spaces & heritage sites in the community. Bring ideas, expertise and creative energy! Sponosored by Hurt Park Neighborhood Association, Hurt Park Elementary School, Roanoke Public Libraries, Roanoke Community Gardens Association and the Virginia Tech College of Architecture.
