Divisions

Engineering Services is responsible for capital projects, mapping, utility line location, real estate, construction inspection and development issues. The Engineering Services Division is located in at the Water Authority's headquarters at 601 S. Jefferson Street, Roanoke, VA 24011.

Finance and Administration oversees customer billing, finance, human resources and technological support. The customer billing office and finance and administration offices are located at the Water Authority's headquarters at 601 S. Jefferson Street, Roanoke, VA 24011.

Utility Administration includes the Authority's public communications office and provides legal and liaison support for the Authority board of directors. The mailing address for the Utility Administration Division is 601 S. Jefferson Street, Roanoke, VA 24011.

Field Operations handles construction and maintenance of the Water Authority's water and wastewater collection system. This division maintains over 1000 miles of water lines, 900 miles of sewer lines and 4,000 fire hydrants in the City of Roanoke and Roanoke County. Water Operations is responsible for the operation of all water treatment plants, pump stations and storage tanks, as well as meter reading and meter maintenance. The mailing address for the Water Operations Division is 601 S. Jefferson Street, Roanoke, VA 24011.

Wastewater Operations is based at the Roanoke Regional Water Pollution Control Plant in southeastern Roanoke. This division is responsible for the operation of the plant, which treats wastewater from throughout the Roanoke Valley. Water Pollution Control also manages the industrial pretreatment and biosolids land application programs and the sanitary sewer evaluation and rehabilitation (SSE/R) program.
