The Southeast Action Forum, Inc., involves the Belmont, Fallon, Morningside and Kenwood neighborhoods. These neighborhoods contain some of the oldest communities of Roanoke. They are bordered by Vinton to the east, the Norfolk and Southern Railroad to the north, I-581 to the west and the Roanoke River to the south. The area is well served with public facilities such as schools, expansive parks, a community swimming pool and fitness center and a library. The region was recently selected as a pilot project for the City's new revitalization strategy, featuring traffic calming initiatives and housing development and rehabilitation, and has consequently experienced considerable increases in property values. The rolling typography of the area makes for excellent views of the downtown skyline and the Mill Mountain Star is visible from much of the neighborhood.
  • Promotes the best interest, health, safety and general welfare of all Southeast neighbors, to be concerned and to have pride in the upkeep of our neighborhood.
  • Seeks to protect and improve the neighborhood by working in harmony with the City of Roanoke and all other agencies and organizations committed to neighborhood development.
  • Monthly meetings often feature a speaker addressing a topic of relevance to the neighborhood.
  • A Neighborhood Watch Community
  • Participant in National Night Out
  • Encourages all neighborhood residents to participate
  • Volunteer opportunities
  • Monthly street clean-up held on the 3rd Saturday of each month
