This Red Buckeye (Aesculus pavia) is listed by American Forests as a National Champion. It is located at the Evergreen Burial Park in southwest Roanoke City at Summit Avenue and Brighton Road. It was first nominated by the late William S. Hubard, a member of Valley Beautiful and author of the Roanoke Valley Big Tree Register. It has a 95 inch circumference, 58 foot height, and 48 foot canopy spread.
