Pay Online by Credit/Debit Card
Payments for parking tickets, personal property and real estate taxes, business licenses, city-wide invoices, and EMS bills may be made online. For your convenience, the Treasurer's Office accepts payments for most items by American Express, MasterCard, Visa and Discover.
All credit card payments are subject to a nominal convenience fee bases on the amount of the transaction. This fee is paid directly to the company processing credit card payments for the city and ensures that no tax dollars are spent to provide credit card service to citizens. The convenience fee charged is 2.75% of the transaction amount with a minimum fee of $1.00. You will be notified of your convenience fee before your transaction is complete.

Pay Online by eCheck
For your confenience, you can pay online by transferring funds from your personal checking or savings account. This service is free.
The Treasurer's Office accepts payments online by eCheck for Real Estate taxes, Personal Property taxes, Busines Licenses, Parking Tickets, EMS bills and City invoices.
Please have all of your information ready. You will need the account number for the type of payment you want to make, the amount you are paying and your savings or checking information (account number and bank routing number).

Pay By Phone
Credit and debit card payments for parking tickets, personal property and real estate taxes, business licenses, city-wide invoices, and EMS bills may be made by phoning (800) 272-9829. Jurisdiction code is 1006. Please note that a 2.75% convenience fee applies to all credit and debit card transactions.
Follow These Steps to Pay by Phone:
- Call 1-800-2PAY-TAX (1-800-272-9829), 24 hours a day, using a touch tone telephone.
- When prompted, enter jurisdiction code 1006 for the city of Roanoke.
- Press 1 for Personal Property Tax.
Press 2 for Real Estate Tax.
Press 3 for Parking Tickets.
Press 5 for Business Licenses.
Press 6 for City Invoices.
Press 7 for City of Roanoke EMS Billing.
The system will prompt you for the information it needs to process your payment. Be sure to write down the receipt number the system provides in case there are questions about your payment. |

Please do not mail cash or credit card information. U.S. Post Office postmarks, not business meter stamps, determine the timeliness of payments. |

Pay at City Hall
Payments may be made at the cashier counter in the lobby of the Noel C. Taylor Municipal Building, located at 215 Church Avenue, SW. The office is open from Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., except legal holidays.
Only cash, money orders and checks are accepted at the counter.
Drop Boxes
Checks and money order payments may be dropped 24 hours a day in the drop box across from the Noel C. Taylor Municipal Building. Pedestrian and vehicular access available. Checks and money order payments may also be dropped 24 hours a day in the drop box located across from the Parks and Recreation Building on Reserve Avenue.
Please be certain to enclose your bill stub, account number, or other description of the bill to which you would like your payment credited, as well as a return address or phone number, so that your payment may be properly credited without delay. |
