The City of Roanoke is dedicated to promoting clean, safe and attractive neighborhoods. The City expects it residents to be good citizens by adhering to the various codes. Please familiarize yourself with the codes, a few of which are below.

The City prohibits vegetation over 10 inches high (not including shrubs and trees) and accumulation of trash and debris on a property.
The City requires that residents mow the strip of grass between the sidewalk and the road/street.
The City prohibits storing furniture, appliances, miscellaneous household goods, or other items on a front porch or in a yard for more than 24 hours.
A permit is required to erect a fence or deck
The City requires that a vehicle or trailer located on private property be in operating condition and display both a valid license plate and inspection decal
