Annual Charity Golf Tournament
Sheriff Octavia Johnson is pleased to announce the Third Annual Roanoke City Sheriff’s Office Charity Golf Tournament, Saturday, May 17, 2008 at Countryside Golf Club in Roanoke, Virginia. We are honored to have Nextel as our title sponsor. All proceeds from this event will benefit the Roanoke City Sheriff’s Office D.A.R.E. (Drug Abuse Resistance Education) program. Teaching our children to resist drugs and violence is the foundation of the D.A.R.E. program taught by Deputy Sheriffs in Roanoke City’s twenty-one elementary schools. We need your help to persist in our fight to keep children off drugs, out of gangs and away from violence.
We are, personally, asking you to participate in our Charity Golf Tournament. The format is Captain’s Choice; one flight only with a shotgun start at 7:30 a.m. The entry fee is $55.00 per player or $220.00 per team. Entry fee includes lunch, refreshments, and lots of great prizes. We anticipate having a full flight of golfers from all over our region. Registration deadline is May 3, or when the flight is full. Dare to keep kids off drugs; register today.
For our friends and patrons who do not wish to play golf but want to ensure the success of our D.A.R.E. program, we are offering the opportunity to “sponsor a hole.” Sponsorship of a hole is $100.00. Companies or individuals sponsoring holes or donating prizes receive recognition for their support.
