The Investigations and Support Division
The Investigations and Support Division is made up of the Investigations Bureau and the Support Services Bureau.
Investigations and Support Services:
The Investigations Bureau is made up of five squads of detectives. Special Victims Detectives investigate all felony offenses committed both by and against juveniles. Crimes Against Persons Detectives investigate all major crimes against persons; that includes robbery, rape, murder, malicious wounding and suicide. Crimes Against Property Detectives investigate burglary and larceny cases. This squad also includes White Collar Crimes investigators who handle all crimes involving finances and identity theft. This Bureau includes Computer Crimes Detectives, who investigate any crimes committed over the computer, via the internet.
Narcotics and Organized Crime:
The Narcotics and Organized Crime Unit consists of undercover officers who investigate illegal narcotics, prostitution, wanted violent fugitives, and terrorism. The unit has detectives working in the following regional task forces: DEA, ATF, U.S. Marshals Fugitive Task Force, and the FBI Joint Terrorism Task Force.
