Friends of the Library

Friends of the Library: An Organization of Library Supporters

Think of a good friend and then think of all the qualities that makes them a good friend. Support, encouragement to grow and helping hands when needed are some of the characteristics of a good friend. This is exactly what the Friends of the Library do for the Roanoke Public Libraries.

We:

*Advocate the Library and its services. We are interested in improving the quality and the scope of library services and in making them more easily accessible throughout Roanoke.

*Fundraise for the Library. As a non-profit organization of book lovers, we raise money for library materials, equipment and programs through special events, used book sales, and membership dues.

*Serve the Library. We volunteer to help with Roanoke Public Libraries Summer Reading Programs, literary events, and other programs which promote the use to the library system and its resources.

One of the great things about the FRIENDS group is that you can be involved in as many or as few of our projects as you chose.
