Election Results

General and special elections in the city of Roanoke were held on Tuesday, November 7, 2000.



SPECIAL NOTICE

Begining with this election, § 24.2-643 of the Code of Virginia required each voter to do one of the following before being allowed to vote:
    1. Present one of the following forms of identification:
    • Commonwealth of Virginia voter registration card
    • social security card
    • valid Virginia driver's license
    • any other identification card issued by a federal, Virginia, or local government agency
    • any valid employee identification card containing a photograph of the voter and issued by an employer of the voter in the ordinary course of the employer's business
    OR
    2. Sign a statement that he or she is the named registered voter who he or she claims to be.

Registered voters in the city of Roanoke were entitled to vote for the following:
