Mission/Vision

As a team of skilled professionals, we will enhance the safety, comfort and quality of life for all citizens, employees and visitors to the Roanoke Valley through trades which build, maintain and beautify City property.

Responsibility

Facilities Management is responsible for maintaining the structural, electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems in city-owned buildings. Facilities Management staff maintains all the Parks and Recreation centers, park restrooms, athletic field lighting, and provides support for various special events such as Festival in the Park, Local Colors, First Fridays, and the annual Christmas Tree lighting. In addition, the department performs major structural repairs such as roofing, repairs major equipment, maintains all fire and security systems, and conducts daily janitorial cleaning and maintenance for various city facilities.


Operation Lights out Facilities Management is currently in the process of re-lamping the City Facilities to meet the Go Green Goal
