Chief A.L. Gaskins joined the Roanoke Police Department in March 1998.Before joining the Roanoke Police Department, Chief Gaskins served for 28 years at the Newport News Virginia Police Department. Chief Gaskins is committed to serving the community, and enhancing the relationship between the Roanoke Police Department and the citizens it serves.



Deputy Chief T.S. Jones joined the Roanoke Police Department in February 1981. He commands the Services Division.

Deputy Chief B.S. Lugar joined the Roanoke Police Department in August 1975. He commands the Operations Division.

Captain G.W. Staples joined the Roanoke Police Department in August 1989. He is the Captain of the Services Division.

Captain C.C. Perkins joined the Roanoke Police Department in October 1992. He commands the Criminal Investigations Bureau.

Captain C.L. Davis joined the Roanoke
Police Department in July 1989. He
commands the Patrol Bureau.
