Real Estate Taxes

Real Estate Taxes

Real Estate Taxes are payable in two installments. The due dates of these installments are: October 5 and April 5 of each year. The tax rate for real estate is $1.22 per $100.00 of the assessed value of the property.

Tax bills are mailed the last week in August and February. It is the taxpayer's responsibility to notify the Treasurer's Office of address changes. Please complete the change of address form located on the Treasurer's main web page under Change of Address.

Special Instructions Regarding Real Estate Tax Payments Through Mortgage Company Escrow Accounts

If you will no longer have an escrow account through a mortgage company, please contact the Treasurer's Office with your correct mailing address to receive your Real Estate Tax bill. This will ensure that you receive your bill in time to avoid the 10% late payment penalty.

If you refinanced your mortgage and you receive a tax bill that should be paid by an escrow account, put your new loan number on the bill and mail it to your mortgage company. The Treasurer's Office will make this type of correction to your account when we receive the payment from the mortgage company.
