 Seven information systems professionals comprise the technical support team. This team's broad range of experience (technical support, systems analysis and programming, operations and workstation support) provides the extensive knowledge needed to support a wide array of networks and platforms using modern technologies
In addition to installation and maintenance of hardware and enterprise operating systems, this team analyzes hardware needs, establishes specifications, creates bids, and participates in vendor selection.
Network engineers support the local and wide-area enterprise network which includes the optical ethernet fiber backbone. The City's main administrative and operational facilities are served by a WAN using fiber optic cabling. Other facilities are connected using leased lines or wireless communications.
System programmers and network engineers install, maintain, and administer the following operating systems:
