VENDOR REGISTRATION
To become a potential new vendor with the City of Roanoke, complete a Bid Application Form (this file is 493 KB in size and requires the free to view) and submit it to the Purchasing Division. You may also obtain a Bid Application by visiting the Purchasing Division office. Applicants will be considered for solicitations on commodities for which they are qualified.
Placement on the bidders list does not guarantee receipt of a request for an Invitation to Bid or Request for Proposal. It is the vendor's responsibility to check the posted notices.
For purchases over $50,000, vendors will receive formal Invitations to Bids (ITB) or Requests for Proposals (RFP). Competitive bidding will be used in most cases. When professional services are sought, competitive negotiations will be the method of selection used. Professional services are defined in the procurement section of the Virginia Code, section 2.2-4301, as work performed by independent contractors within the scope of the practice of accounting or auditing, appraising, architecture, court reporting, dentistry, finance, fine arts, insurance consulting services, land surveying, landscape architectures, law, management consulting services, medicine, optometry, planning, professional engineering or similar professional services.
Notices are posted on the bid board located in the lobby of the Noel C.Taylor Municipal Building, may be listed on and the , and may be advertised in the local newspapers.
The City reserves the right to update the bidders list from time to time.
