The following list of vacancies is updated, if necessary, after each City Council meeting. Roanoke City Council appoints members to approximately 64 authorities, boards, commissions and committees.

Current Vacancies

As of February 5, the following vacancies exist:  
  • Fair Housing Board - three vacancies
    • Term of office ending March 31, 2021
    • Unexpired terms of office ending March 31, 2019 and March 31, 2021 
  •  Parks and Recreation Advisory Board - one vacancy  
    • Term of office ending March 31, 2021
  •  Roanoke Neighborhood Advocates - one vacancy
    • Unexpired term of office ending June 30, 2020   
  • Roanoke City School Board - three vacancies
    • Three-year terms of office will commence on July 1, 2018 and end on June 30, 2021.
    • Incumbent School Board Trustees are Mark A. Cathey, Laura D. Rottenborn and Richard "Dick" Willis, Jr.
